A dry sunny day with a nip in the air was just perfect for preparing and cooking Xmas dinner in the kitchen of House B. Sophie had cleaned and prepared the training room on Xmas Eve and Lee and Jessica had decorated and prepared the tables on Xmas morning. Paul was in charge of keeping us all entertained with his music and collecting items from the fridge.
Francis, our own resident chef, stepped down from his usual cooking for everyone in the house and assisted Angela with the preparation of a traditional home-made Xmas dinner for 8 people. The potato, leek and onion soup simmered in the background, the honey-glazed turkey crown roasted gently in the oven along with the beef and ham joint while Francis and Angela peeled and chopped potatoes, parsnips, carrots and Brussels sprouts. Fanta was working that day, but dropped in to wish us all a Merry Xmas and pose for a picture!
Everything went to plan and we all sat down to a feast, opened small presents and sipped delicious non-alcoholic cocktails! Jokes from the crackers were shared (not that any of us really understood them though) and we all had a memorable time. There was plenty of food for Francis to share the following day so all could have another delicious Xmas dinner!
Special thanks to all who attended – Paul, Francis, Anthony, Nirmal, Eddie, Terry, Lucy and Angela.
Wishing you all a Very Happy New Year
